Tom- with STEC, the 25th is earnings as well- you are comfortable holding into the report?

I wouldnt worry too much about the name.. This is a really tight community so to speak, and the key players all share the space with a certain degree of err coexistance if that makes any sense.. You have leaders like Kingston, Viking, PNY Technologies, Corsair and Southland who all have their products available to the same vendors and it all comes down to price and availability.. Kingston and Viking are the big boys so they take most of the cake.. PNY is also a giant but they are very strong in the retail market.. Simple is considered a 'player' and they fit right in the lineup when people check price/availability.. They are very aggressive and have been a thorn in my side on a daily basis :)

Check out these memory locators.. You can put in your pc model or camera type and it tells you what memory you need to order.. The internet has dramatically changed the speed in which a company like Simple can sell the correct product to the consumer.. Dell, Compaq, Apple- Under 5 minutes you can have the correct module and be done with it.. in the past you had to pretty much go right to the manufacturer and pay a fortune for a module where as now you can go to Simple and pay sometimes less than 1/2 the cost for the same exact module.. the power of information!

I cant really comment on sales opinions since the company I work for is planning on going public in a month or so..
but than again, if my guys are doing lousy or fantastic, it could be a completely different story at simple.. ALot of it depends on having inventory or no inventory at the right time.. For example, if you bought the components needed for a standard 64mb/pc100 module last week, and you didnt move it all your sitting on a heafty lose now because the prices are free falling.. but at the same time, earlier about 2 months ago if you had a decent stock of any pc-100 components the prices nearly doubled, and you could still go to market, undercut most competitors and rake in a fortune..

Now heres a thought for anyone who is bored this weekend.. CD Media.. Re-writeable cds for the burners.. Are there any publicly traded companies who produce this media? People talk about flash memory, but everyone is overlooking this market.. Its huge..
