Re:Also, don't forget Max Pain. If we can start some momentum, 27.5 +-.25 will be a shoo-in by fri.

rsi boy,

Since Max Pain has been such a good predictor of the stock price lately in the down direction I am most curious to see if it works to bring the stock price up. At this point I would be very happy to see $27.5 by next Friday.

That should help. The 800 Mz Durons are already out in the marketplace in quantity and 1.2 Ghz Athlons are starting to show up. This should give more credibility to the announcement.

Little shits like us on SI aren't going to move AMD in this environment. It may be good for a couple points - but it won't change the basic situation; until the balance of institutions are convinced to stop dumping the stock and start buying it, AMD stock is not going to do more than bounce from an oversold level. I can't figure out exactly when that will happen. Maybe on Monday, maybe not for a while. I'll know it when I can see it - when I see consistent block buying that shows institutions are accumulating. Buy or sell it but "resistance (to the tape) is futile".
