M(eat)head, Well, some people need thumping.
In fact the States are getting their sales tax acts together very rapidly now and they will probably all be in full co-operation in 2-3 years. There is a desperate need for funds by most state governments and this will drive it.
It seems logical. We all want to avoid sales tax but we are all moving more and more to consumption taxes intead of income taxes which is a more progressive method of getting taxes. Spend no money-pay no taxes in the most extreme form, however they must find a way to stop mail order sales tax bypassing and these growing state agreements are the way. It also levels the field between the bricks and mortar stores and the internet stores.

Meathead- I asked Bill F. twice (once in 1999, and once about 2 weeks ago) to list his investment record (in terms of % returns, for the years 2000, 1999, 1998, 1997, etc), so that those of us who are reading his posts can have more information about his track record, etc. (Heck, if he's doing OK/well, I'll be more prone to take a more serious look at his views). On both occasions, he refused to even respond.

That tells you all you need to know about Bill F. A guy who runs away from his record of success (or lack thereof...).
He would rather sit-around, and spew commentary without accountability for his mistakes....
