thanks for a very informative post, which i am going to study tommorow.
in re:
<However, buying can begin Monday after the close by means of MOC ("Market-on-Close") orders as well>>
are you sure they can't buy it before the close, that is to say as close as possible to the close, during the last hour or so. so wouldnt the best time to sell PWER (if you are playing this "scalping" game) be during the last few minutes of the last hour? Or, assuming it (the bulk of the buying) happens after hours at the open the next morning?

I had the best luck playing (for a small investor, indeed, very small,) YHOO which went to almost 250 on the day of the inclusion, up only slightly the next day before going sharply down as I remember and I sold the last of my betting shares only a few minutes before the close.

the idea of a getting a sure thing is irresistible, but when is the optimum time to sell into the mandated buying?

thanks again, and I have not read all your post It is too late I will tomorrow.

good luck to you, as well.

jhg

a quote from one of the links you Posted:
< If you've added to your position or put on a new position to play the S&P add game, then you should probably be a seller sometime in the last hour on [DAY THE STOCK WILL BE ADDED AT THE CLOSE], and be totally out by the next morning. The game is over then. All the art will be in picking the exact time to get out. And don't forget -- you won't be the only one trying to figure it out. That revolving door could get crowded.

this is what I am playing, for now. (I also like PWER..)
Any thoughts?
