Actually the report is indeed vague but I'm not sure how Fleckstein concludes that GTW is a consumer finance/sub-prime lender company. GTW does discuss income from operations outside of PC sales in their quarterly statement - going as far to say Income from hardware, software and services
other than the PC was more than 50 percent of income in
the third quarter, which exceeded Gateway's fourth quarter
target by five percentage points.

I don't read this as financing. GTW points out that they are executing upon a plan that takes them beyond hardware sales...... and this appears to be the result of that effort.

So, while I'm not bullish on the PC sector at all I wonder why it is you believe Fleckstien is on to something when clearly it appears he is a bear digging for dirt where there is none... or maybe a little. That Boston Chicken thing is striking.. !
