off limits to all of those who can't afford to fly in on a plane or helicopter..."

One of the primary reasons that people have grown more conscious of environmental protection is because more of them have been able to access the "great outdoors" and experience it...

Destroy that peripheral access to millions of acres of forest and wildlife, and the city folks will think of it only as fancy real estate in a post card.

As a personal experience, I once drove up the Alaska-Canada Highway (ALCAN), which was originally built during WWII. On the way, despite it being Fall, I saw things that I'd never of seen without that access.

And we all know that were there a proposal to build the ALCAN today, it would never make it past the eco-wackos.

There is a balance that can be struck between the needs of nature and the needs of man. And since nothing that man does will last forever, nature will find that balance for us in her own good time.

Regards,

Ron
