It would have worked on Thursday, except it was interrupted by the overseas problems, that may be why it occurred on Friday instead ... it was one day overdue
That upheaval caused the (possisble) capitulation in the DOW stocks.
That's what everyone was looking for.
sentiment/personality causes the rise and fall.
The general mood all summer was wary of the October black Monday ... not many said it, but they thought it.
That sentiment cause of weak market with no confidence.
Now history also tells us we are to have extraspectacular? gains in the months that follow.
Do not think that there is just one or two of us, looking to hang onto good stocks, there are many.

In August, I was a guest at a party. I tried hard to get a conversation going with a 'name brand' broker that also attended. He was very unwilling to tell me what his company was buying. At the time, I thought him to be a greedy capitalist pig, because I was not a paying customer. But in retrospect, I think he was unwilling due to the time frame (late August). He begrudgingly gave me NOK. I did trade it from 41 to 46 area, took profit on a run, and have watched ever since. I have a hard time entering a stock after a goodly size move, but will be looking for hold position on a dip(?) or chase with a stop loss in mind.
