Frank,

Didn't AMD just complete the best 4 consecutive quarters in their history? They must be doing something right. They are up over 100% for the last 12 months. INTC is flat for the same period, and AMD is blowing past Intel in manufacturing affordable, high speed CPU's.

Frank, do you think it would be better for AMD to downbin their high speed parts, to sell them cheap against what Intel produces in volume? Or perhaps AMD could reduce their production out of Dresden by 75% or so to better match Intel's capacity in the ghz range?

>>Once again, AMD has taken a lot of the profitability out of the chip business for both companies. But that's OK, because it is more important to hurt Intel than to make money yourself<<

It just takes a while for the chlorine to work.

Frank,

Re: Intel ASPs
We'll find out Tuesday.

If we do, it will not be from Intel. We may find a lot of info about some peripheral stuff, but Intel will not tell you how many CPUs they sold and at what price.

In fact, the accountants at Intel will do their best to hide the information about the health of the core business from the financial statements presented to their investors.
