Did you get an F in science...and while you're at it...why don't you just get on your horse and travel into Harlem and ask all those impoverished souls having children out of wed-lock...how many of them are doing it for the welfare money..boy talk about unwanted pregnancies...now go scoop up a few of these unfortunate neonates, bring them to your house, raise them to be fine upstanding citizens as you doubtless are....now you right to lifers CAN accomplish something useful.. doc

jmhollen, that is a new one alright, Searle is concerned about people health. That is a real joke. These are the people that brought you Aspartame, and that managed to railroad it through the FDA while engineering a coup against the then dominant artificial sweetener sacharine. I wonder if anyone remember the history of Searle's victory. Who became the Chairman of the board of Searle immediately after that? What was the dose the poor mice were exposed to, to induce cancer like symptoms with Sacharine (a hint, the same dose of salt would have killed the poor creatures from hypertension). The fact that Aspartame is actually less safe (it is a molecule that can pass the blood/brain barrier, sometimes carrying with it other undesired species, no one really knows the long term impact of aspartame) than sacharine did not matter to Searle, the "protector". They raked in the money...I wonder if Rumsfeld is still calling the shots there. By the way, RU-486 has been used in Europe for what now? 20 years, are they using that labor inducing (anti ulcer) drug there as well? How come Searle never objected to the millions they have been raking in from the Europeans? I wonder if that letter to the USDA was also sent to the European equivalent agency, why not? Do they have an agenda that is a US political agenda only and has nothing to do their drug being used or not? Could Rumsfeld still be pulling some strings behind the scene? Zeev
