Are you having open heart surgery? I had open heart surgery on July 10, this year, to replace
a congenitally bad aortic valve. I am part pig now.<G>Although the first month was
discouraging and I still have weird symptoms, for example I feel an overwhelming desire to
watch the women's mud wrestling contests, things are pretty good.(I am back jogging
although I am slower for now) I am sure things will be ok.

Eugene,

I am trying to skip the open heart surgery for now. Due to prior blockages and angioplasty work that has been done, it is clear open heart surgery will be required at some point in my life. New arteries can block up again so my Cardiologist is suggesting that an Anthrectomy should work for the current problem. The blockage is in a difficult location so open heart will be the next step if this cannot be completed.

I was in excellent physical health when I had my initial heart attack in 1989 when I was 37. I was 145 pounds and had a cholesterol count of about 140. I swam competitively in the masters then, jogged and cycled competitively too. I was never able to swim competitively after the heart attack due to some heart damage and some remaining blockage.

I am quite sure things will work out. It sure was not a good feeling last week to know the market was not bullish and I was entering my busy season. The unknown was how bad the blockage was. Now it is known and I should be about as good as new by Saturday.

Compared to your experience, this is a piece of cake.
