Actually I now see on the thread's heading that is was started by the Bush-Cheney campaign. That is the only description, the B-C campaign link. But they mis-named the thread like I said. At the very least (hard-line supporters only) should have been added. Think I'll stay on this board to keep the crossfire going. Don't want any lurkers to get the impression that we on SI are all right-wingers.
Also, that so-called "moderate thread" is mostly right-wingers too. Anyone who criticizes Bush on it gets attacked as well. Well bring it on, boys. And you'd better get used to seeing the real GWB record before your eyes. Because it's going to be one of the major issues in the press from now until election day. The Gore campaign was smart to keep that until the last three weeks. No way people will be able to forget or deny the Texas record as they step into that voting booth.

Gore in Michigan today getting a rousing response from the crowd. Bush was there yesterday. The race in Michigan is close, Gore still ahead. In my electoral count where Gore wins by 4 points I've given Bush the benefit of the doubt and given him Michigan. Actually I shouldn't. If Gore wins Michigan he wins the election.

Bush also made the mistake yesterday of trying to use the middle-east situation to trumpet for revenge and appear like the strong man. It was an arrogant and over-confident move. Cheney is doing the same, acting as if he's still in the situation room and then saying things like Gore is unfit to be commander in chief. So far in this election the public punishes whomever is ahead and starts to get arrogant. expect today's polls (from 2 days ago actually) to boomerang back in Gore's direction.

Liberal American Spirit, it looks like you're not accustomed to having your ideas challenged. They don't do that much in sound-bites do they?

Gore IS a liar. It's been documented here countless times. It's an indisputable fact. I would be embarrassed as a Democrat, to have selected such a dishonest person to occupy the oval office. He earned the nick-name Whopper Al. No one invented it. And no one exaggerated. He's simply a liar. And he does it so often, it can only be described as congenital.

Further, he wants to expand governments influence in our lives to unprecedented levels. He wants young middle class taxpayers to pay for the drugs of rich elderly Americans. He wants to keep poor children, who can't afford a private education, trapped in lousy schools. He doesn't support "choice" when it comes to parents desire to select a school for their own children.

These are the facts. Just like his lies are facts. And no matter how much you desire to limit free speech by complaining about posts which dispute yours. You can't deny these facts.

Sure, you can change the subject to another topic. Or you can distort Gore's programs in order to defend these facts. But they stand on their own. Gore wants middle class young Americans to pay for wealthy elderly peoples prescription drugs. He wants to prevent parents from sending their children to another school when they aren't happy. And he wants to expand the federal governments influence in our lives to unprecedented levels. Why? Why would any thinking person defend and desire these things for America?

The only thing I can figure is Democrats (like you) enjoy being lied to, enjoy having the federal government control more of your life, and enjoy seeing so many minority children kept ignorant in lousy public schools.

It's a strange paradigm to be trapped in, but there it is..

Actually your puffery and nearly nonsensical statements are challenging to accept. It seems so obvious they have no merit it becomes extremely difficult to believe you could believe what you are saying. I don't think anyone wishes you bad luck but people who seemingly possess superior judgement to you are trying to reason with you. You should accept it as caring because they are willing to point out where your thinking is coming up short.
