Forgive my tirade, apparently the Plum Book is now (somewhat) publicly available (but without the details): access.gpo.gov I'm not sure what some of these positions' salaries are, or what the current GS scale is. If I remember correctly, GS-15 starts around $90,000 per year. How many of the people fiercely advocating one candidate or the other will get their pick from the plumb book? One of my earliest employers got TWO picks (a major one and a minor one).
