Dale,

<If Intel's report is worse than expected, the Nasdaq will drop and AMD will take the brunt of it because they are into microprocessors. >

Intel report is probably going to be in line with lowered expectations but the guidance is likely to stink.

I think the risk is quite high that AMD may suffer collateral damage.

amd has a small market share. intel can do well or poorly and amd can still do well. if market for pc chips is poor, intel will do poorly, but amd may increase its small share and do well. if market for pc chips is good, amd may do well and intel may do well also

dale, I expect Intel's revenues to be at the bottom end of its 3-5% guidance. I predict 2.6%, which is still 3% rounded off. Please send a post to me with your prediction.

The only way AMD will escape the wrath of Intel's report is if it is right on target. And even this will not trigger a rebound.

Dale-

I think you are being a little cynical, which is understandable under recent circumstances. Unfortunately, being right on target is no better in most instances than missing on the downside. Being on target for Intel might be OK this time since the revenue "shortfall" has already been paid for (hopefully).
I continue to hope that a good report will be good for both companies.
