I believe we need to pay down our debt and the only way to do that is either keep the taxes where they are then streamline government and use much of the surplus to pay down, also to prop up SS and Medicare. GOP doesn't seem to realize every dollar we spend it debt until we pay off the big one. and every dollar in tax breaks also keeps us from paying down that debt. Being debt-free (or less in debt) would insure a robust economy more than anything else we can do. The logic that tax money is the peoples' money is true, but the debt is also the peoples' debt. That is where the GOP is blind for some reason. They don't even seem to acknowledge the debt. Even though Reagan-Bush caused most of it.
