What do chickens have to do with anything?

I would have thought that the question of ensoulement is central in granting those "unborn children" with "inallienable rights" derived from the constitution.

Ensoulement is a religous issue. People disagree about religous issues and they have every right to. However they don't have a right to kill other people that their religon views may tell them don't have any souls.

I believe that this world has between half a billion to a billion people (I know not the exact number) that would not consume meat because it involves "killing", is that the philosophy on which you base equivalency between abortion and "killing innocent children".

No. Eating meat normally involves killing animals not people. Ensoulment or no ensoulment, I regard humans (and any other sentient inteligent species) to have greater rights then animals. I know some would disagree with me on that. Do you?
