Sylvester,

Looks like DDR is dead dead dead. Looking for comments.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Hi sylvester80; Nice find! This puts the final lie to the concept of DramReview being a balanced site. The article you link to is by Jeff Mitchell at Mindmentum:

Why RDRAM for the Desktop?
Jeff Mitchell, Mindmentum
intel.com

If you go to the Dramreview site, you find the following statement about the intention of the site:

Fascinated by the frequent twists and turns? Addicted to the intrigue? Maybe you're in a bind because you need to make product plans in a game where the players and rules change continuously. That's no fun if you're betting your business on the outcome. What you need is a program.

Well, this is it. Your guide to sorting through the maze of technology, market dynamics, pundits and politics surrounding the DRAM industry. Here's where you'll find informed analysis on where to turn and who to trust. Who's doing what to whom. Whether Rambus is savior or satan.

Here we level the playing field and provide some balance to what has become the holy war of the semiconductor industry. If you're weary of the emotional debate, this is your agnostic respite. When the missionaries represent faith as reason, we call them on it. When important facts are missing, we provide them. When inconsistencies appear, we put them side by side. Check in when you need a break. Or some facts.

So who is Jeff Mitchell and Mindmentum? Here's an admission from a Rambus long:

Ian Anderson, Apr 13, 2000
Jeff Mitchell, who runs the site, is a former employee of Rambus, now working independently. #reply-13412944

So much for the independence of DramReview. Even though Jeff Mitchell is only a former employee of Rambus (he was business development manager), it's pretty clear that his priorities still "lie" with Rambus.
