Michael... from what I'm able to understand, they are selling them faster than they can make 'em, so why bother to advertise them. Promoting them and then not being able to supply them could generate major problems(could create an image issue, which WE KNOW CPQ doesn't need and could also benefit the competition by exciting consumers on the product resulting in their buying a similar unit from another source who can supply the unit NOW). I doubt that advertising now would produce many consumers willing to wait in line for a CPQ. When they get ramped up and can meet the demand might be a better time to do some serious adv. Omho. El

Michael - one of your many YAHOO fans takes issue with the use of the term "advertising" in your post, and points out that what is needed is marketing...

Please attempt to take the time to understand the difference between MARKETING and ADVERTISING...Marketing is TAKING your product/service to potential customers in an attempt to convince them to purchase and this is generally accomplished through a marketing force of people...Advertising is presenting your MESSAGE about your product/service to potential customers to convince them to PURCHASE by taking the DIRECT ACTION themselves - namely, to ORDER by phone/internet or brick-n-mortar retail.

If a company is selling EVERY item manufactured and the demand still FAR EXCEEDS supply...then WHY in the hell does the company need to spend MORE advertising dollars, at present?...HUH?????
