bill - are you saying you would short INTC at THIS point? I would think the downside there is limited. But then INTC is my largest holding...

Bill, a few posts back I saw you call Dell "a real company" or something to that effect. And that at some point it is buyable. What point is that?

Also, with the recent bludgeoning in tech, did you take on any tech longs (even for a trade)? Many, imo, became much more rationally valued. Of course, as usual, the bargains didn't last long. Thanks.

Gary

if you've been mostly buying puts, you've lost a fortune the last 18 years.

OTOT Re Shorts
<<< nok,ericy,intc,ibm and >>>
Owned all 4 once, had to sell as they started down.Could have bgt puts instead.
Perhaps I understand your 'drift'. These all huge cap stocks, greatly influenced by noted analyst comments and sensitive to any earnings disappointments.
And because of that volatility plus that fact every analyst in the business wants to talk about them I
find it impossible to feel safe in owning them. Same applies to Orcl and Csco.
Cant comment on your shorting, not much experience.
But neither Dell or Intc should go lower.
I don't mess around with Dell much now, but it appears one could buy at 27 and then sell or short at 35 to 38.
I'm into storage, wireless and fibre, trying to handle the volatility by selling covered calls and buying them back on dips. Works good so far.
Regards
Sig

Bill, surely not NOK. I just read today where some NICE analyst was spreading the work that everyone should be buying NOK here. I thought that was really nice of him to tell us in advance that it was going up. :-)
