Actually Clinton is the most popular president of our lifetime. Approval rating now up around 65% DESPITE the Monica scandal and lying about it. Let me ask you something though. If Bush were put on the stand and asked if he had reported for military duty in Alabama, done cocaine, was an alcoholic, was guilty of insider trading, etc. would he say "no, no, no, no." Of course he would. Either than or it would have to be true confessions times. So far we've seen no humility about these personal issues from Bush. Clinton made a mistake lying about that but it was a tough call. To admit it might have turned out to be a big mistake too. In those situations they have four choices, yes, no, refuse to answer, deflect. Most politicians (and people) would prefer to take one of the last three. especially if confessing could ruin your life or send you to prison. Tough choices. fortunatelyt GTore has no such scandals to have to answer to.
