Re: AMD appears to think that big mhz leads and give-away prices are the way to go.

Frank,

Dresden is approaching half AMD's production capacity now and the chips from there are priced at 200% to 500% current ASPs.

2 to 5 times current average prices hardly constitutes give-away prices.

From Intel's perspective, with 1GHZ being, at a guess, the fastest 5% or so yielded it may be cheap, but for AMD 1GHZ represents mid-range - so that pricing is, if anything, too high.

Regards,

Dan
