Samsung Electronics surged 8.9 percent to 165,000 won, ending a six-day slide. The world's largest computer memory chipmaker will pay about $443 million to buy back 2 percent of its outstanding shares to support a stock price that has lost about half it value this year and boost earnings per share. The purchase could take place as soon as this week.
