North Korea has a big military but are they are far more broken than the Soviet Union and canot possibly have their equipment in any shape to threaten us, whatever that equipment is. They furthermore have no motivation at all to attack us. Attack South Korea in a fit of madness? maybe, remotely possible, but I see the gradual relief of tensions there and the eventual re-unification.

If the Pentagon is really scared of North Korea then sure they should bolster out assets in South Korean. But we already have a lot of firepower there, more than enough to deal with a bankrupt 2nd rate power with a lot of old-fashioned weaponry. Pointing to North Korea as a rationale for spending hundreds of billions of borrowed money on a program which doesn't even work is sheer waste and nonsense.
