Dataquest predicts that memories are
leading the way, with sales here now expected to jump by more than 60% over
1999. DRAMs alone with climb 58% to $37 billion, it estimates. There are reports
of shortages and tight capacity for flash memory, MPUs, and some DRAM
architectures, according to Dataquest. This is expected to cause higher prices for
these products in late 2000.
