On top of all that, it bears repeating that if anyone, be it Jacobs or AXA or whoever, buys out Conseco, all of Wendt's incentive clauses are set off immediately upon closing, all his options and stock vest and he gets that $8 million or more bonus payday. So, any prospective buyer is going to have to pony up a whole new round of incentives if they want to hang onto their "savior" CEO.

And all that is assuming there's enough money in this world to get Wendt to call Jacobs "boss".
