Bill,
Thanks for your well expressed posts. They echo my own sentiments. I very much enjoy reading GTR because of the insights into technology and companies that it provides. I too have been turned off by the "pick of the month" stampede. George points to long term trends in which many companies may participate, not just the ones he mentions and not for just that month. The companies he mentions should be put on ones radar screen and followed. He may have the technology right, but the stock pick wrong.

I agree with his technology perspectives and yet have long disagreed with his pick of LU and not CSCO. On CIEN, however, I was in agreement, but clearly how can one forget the TLAB/LU/T fiasco. He writes so that you do not need to blindly buy a stock. You are buying a perspective in which many stocks may participate.

I actually find it disappointing that his great technological insights are being overshadowed and reduced to 'which stock do I buy this month' mentality.

All the best,
Michael

One factor may be that in the past he didn't add a new stock every issue. I've got all the back issues, and I can tell you that he took a lot of dogs off the list over time, too. QCOM and JDSU make him look like a genius, but I'd love to see someone actually study his track record, including all the losers. What he excels at, IMO, is vision. He sees far down the road.
