RE: Fast computers The original point I was making was that people will be wanting faster computers whether or not they really need them. This leads people who over-analyze things to predict the end of the PC era. This is why Cyrix designed the GX series and Intel did the Timna. It always proves to be premature, although the devices do wind up getting used. Yes, at some point, the PC market will saturate and performance will level off. But who knows where that point will be?
