Wap is definitely on the mind of BusinessWeek, The
Economist-mist, Vodafone and maybe even Pravda, or
at least in that same old style.

Interesting that a simple, upgradable, standardized system
for selecting menus is that important, maybe it is somehow
related to the Klingon News Network and the Next
Generation??

Ilmarinen.

P.S. Continued my 7110 consumer tests, maybe I should
switch to sales with the success rate I have had.
(except for the construction guys who absolutely demands
exchangable, scratchable, personalized covers and internal
antennas in the pocket with all the other tools)

Eric,

<< I think that VoiceStream's set to sell the Nokia 7190 fairly soon >>

So do I. Nokia is a (deservedly) highly privileged vendor to VoiceStream. This goes well beyond handsets.

<< maybe Nokia's still working on the glitches >>

I'm sure they are, and they should. They have a total commitment to TQM. The 71xx is an anomaly for them. I met Jorma once, briefly, at Omnipoint headquarters, in Cedar Grove, NJ, perhaps 4 years ago.

He had spent the morning with George Schmitt, explaining the action plan for rectification of a quality problem and reviewing Nokia's commitment to TQM.

I was in a separate session, reviewing requirements for integration testing of another Nokia product about to be introduced on the dual Nortel/Ericsson network.

<< VoiceStream also did a deal with Infospace last May for end-to-end WAP portal services >>

Verizon has an Infospace arrangement as well. Sorry no link handy.
