Yoy came on this board and acted like you almost were ready to vote for Bush ...until you read the vanity fair article. Your latter posts sound like your mind was made up years ago.

<<try to make Gore look lik a commie>>.. Gore does a fairly good imitation himself.

<<A risky gambit >> You sound more and more like Al Gore.
Are you sure you don't work for him?

>>>You wish it were an issue, you mean. Gore admitted it nine years ago.<<<

Nine years ago, huh? Geez, Bush was just politically coming out back then, wasn't he?

Coincidentally, timewise, it seems Gore faced that skeletal ghost just when Bush was deciding to give it up the stuff.

Practically, I think Bush needs to go 20 years clean and establish his own public service record, before he's anywhere close to being ready for the presidency.

Ironically, however, the surest way Bush could have won the presidency this time around would have been if he'd switched parties and evolved into a Nader-like liberal, no, radical, within the Democratic Party, on substantive issues. The crossover factor might actually have worked for him, given he's got the nice family connections and good personality. Connections, personality and the right issues can be a winning combination.

OK, enough of fantasy vs. reality.

I'll close by commenting that Ronald Reagan Jr. knows where Bush is really at: In the present condition, he's unfit for the presidency. He's nothing but connections and handling, forwarding somebody else's money-grabbing agenda.
