I think your assumption is correct. The prices on Monday indicate that you had to own your shares as of the close on Friday in order to get the A distribution. Whether effective after close on 6/2/00 or as of open on 6/5/00 seems to be rather moot.

When we get 24/7/365 electronic trading from anywhere in the world, these things may get rather interesting. The price of a stock at 11:59.9 might be one price, and at 12:00.4 a different price to reflect a distribution. What fun!
