Craig, one would think that a 20-year life for ink jet dyes would be attainable today, as Epson claims. However, I can only report my results: Using the Epson color inks in the Photo 1200, and using Epson heavyweight matte photo paper or an acid free matte photo ink jet paper, I notice the beginnins of fading and color shift after less than a week in lighted areas (never in lighted areas with direct sunlight). This is simply unacceptable. I've written Epson and received a catalogue of paper and ink supplies, instead of an answer. I guess Hewlett Packard will be my next printer.
