I was looking for new ways to slice and dice the data, to see if gems could be identified using what should be a valid technique. I don't have the TA background yet to do the work myself, but I do have the time to start learning, and to get the computer to do some of the work for me.

I do believe in a net present value of future earnings methodology- which is more of a Warren Buffet or Benjamin Graham style, but I don't do as much fundamental work as they would. I see value in TA in that it can spotlight what I'm not seeing.

I haven't had many sleepless nights, but then I haven't been invested in Tech this year, except for a couple of minor postions taken on just the past few weeks. And I have a healthy position in cash, just closer to 75% rather than 100%.

During the March Nasdaq drop, my portfolio actually had some of it's best gains, as funds sought out safety, which I'd started seeking in December. Lots of luck involved, but also some common sense regarding things being out of hand in certain portions of the market.
