Re: And here is a link to "the ALi chipset is reportedly crap"

My goodness, Sylvestor80 you were right about such a post existing. I understand, though, why you were hesitant to post the link since it was followed by Dean writing:

> Why still no DDR PCs Dean?

Because the DDR manufacturers don't want an Intel-like recall? Because now they are looking at Comdex for their announcement? Because you will see them around mid-November?

> Why has it been harder to design DDR Dean?

DDR is not the problem, it is the chipset/motherboard. The timings are very difficult. According to Tyan, they are 'challenging', but nowhere near as complicated as DRDRAM. They like DDR better, because it is simpler to implement. Timings simply have to be gotten right.

> Why PC1600 benchmarks show DDR slower
> than even SDRAM Dean?

Because you are selectively looking at things, as usual...

>Why is DDR D.O.A Dean?

It isn't. You simply need to understand that there is no big rush anymore. DRDRAM is DEAD. Nobody cares about DRDRAM anymore. It is a non-issue. Why rush something out that has no competition?

But kudos to you for having the guts to post the link.
