Wrong. We are now paying down the debt (finally). We are not adding debt anymore. Thus to lower the revenues of the government would add debt or at least force us to cut programs. Both candidates are saying they want to add more for SS, medicare, health insurance, prescription drugs, education and military programs (though I don't believe Bush on the first four) so do the math. With lower taxes thre's no money to pay for all that. What gets cut this time? Help for the poor and the kids and the elderly? And where's the money come from for Bush's missile defence system? The egovernment debt is the peoples' debt. Tac cuts back to the people before we've paid off the debt are just taking a cash-advance on our credit card. And tax cuts will raise interest rates.
