The Dollar Index is at a new intraday 52 week high here. And Crude is down.

IMHO, it's not so easy for a number of gold mining companies to get out of the hole they are now in, especially when the POG is being egregiously manipulated down, down and down. It seems to me short-sellers had been able (a while back) to short stocks of gold mining companies with a high degree of confidence and even impunity.

Further, there is also the possibility that some companies may become "victimized" by "rogue" brokerage houses if ever they become desperate enough to have to depend on them for financing. If this sounds implausible, take a look at the second part of Jay Taylor's article ((somewhat dated (1996)but still applicable)) at

kjmcap.com.

The consequences to all concerned are obvious.

(As the article is somewhat dated, please read it in the right context. As everyone knows, some of the mining stocks mentioned therein are now non-existent).
