There is no point in having a discussion with you. The issues are too complex and you want to simplify everything into monetary selfishness. There are many kinds of selfishness and I would argue some of them are more enlightened than others. When you are taxed and the money is redistributed, if it is done with any degree of care, you buy a more stable society. Money in your pocket (imo) is no good if the society is unstable. But that's merely a value judgment I make. I happen to agree that the tax codes need simplification, and should be more fair- but I doubt we would agree about how fairness should be achieved.
