If one thinks that the actions of the present government undermine the political and economic viability of the nation, then those actions take our children a step toward conditions in the Middle East, Africa etc. etc.

To suggest that things could be improved in Canada does not suggest that Canada is somehow inferior -- that confuses statics with dynamics. IMO, to say "Canada is a wonderful country, so we don't have to change anything," breaks faith with the pioneers who built this country into something great. At the least, we consequently fail to achieve our full potential. At the worst, we ignore grave threats. It's fair game for anyone to decide there are not threats, or that the Liberal Party is the best one to deal with what threats exist. I just wouldn't happen to agree -- which is, after all, democracy.
