To me, that chart shows Uncle Vert is expending no effort in reversing his ways.

THe question is why is ARBA, etc up nicely and VERT is still in the outhouse just waiting for some paper or leaves<g>

Vert isn't really b2b software. Its roots are more in specialized portals (content). This means they can only do the "buy side" b2b, if that. Thats the part where you put the purchasing schedule on the web, with no integration to your backend systems. The cost savings in the buy side is just getting cheaper prices, nice but rather limited. The real $$ savings is in the automation of the supply chain, or "sell side" b2b, which vert doesn't do.

Last year when b2b was first getting off the ground everyone was buy-side. So people thought ariba = cmrc = vert in terms of potential. But this year the move has been to sell-side which accounts for the rise in itwo. The sell side big three are arba, cmrc, and itwo. So far only i2 has live implementations... but they have a head start.

Vert has stated they want to do more supply side and get into the software automation biz but their recent choice of Galli from Amazon as CEO was not a wise choice for that. Additionally, I happen to work with a pvt b2b and they just won a huge deal from vert, in fact they think they can win vert anytime and this is a stealth company.

Vert might bounce but it really isn't even 1/4 of the company cmrc is...
