Peter <I read in the German magazin PC Direkt that AMD plans to buy Transmeta for 2 Billion $. It may be old news, however.>

If you switch AMD and Transmeta in the above statement, you might have the updated article.

I'm with Kash, I was thinking of buying some of my shares back but I think I'll wait until after Intel reports.

AMD to buy Transmeta?

Just read a little blurb in Games Business, Oct 15. It says AMD plans on raising $2 billion in a secondary and there are rumors that it plans on buying Transmeta.

From the conf call, it sounds like the $2 billion is probably earmarked for another fab, but aside from the blurb in the German magazine PC Direkt, has anyone else heard this from more definitive sources? I'm not sure I'd be happy with a buyout of Transmeta at high prices, esp. after IBM pullback.
