Apples to oranges applies here.

Hughes sold their sat manufacturing business, while Loral relies on their sat manufacturing business for the majority of their revenue. Hughes is part of a DBS duopoly(for now), with 10 million households, with tens of millions of consumer eyes fixed on their DirecTV service. Loral has no equivalent. Hughes has a box and VSAT making business, Loral does not. The only thing they have in common is that Hughes owns 80% of SPOT, which is a direct competitor to Skynet. Your comparison is invalid.
