Sector- Yes we have posted quite a few figures(but I don't have a summary url) on what it costs to run fiber. They are all over the map depending upon where it's being run. IMO, it would be a lot less expensive and considerably more reliable to run fiber IF the ROW is already in place to do so.

I think one potential application for fiberless is to backhaul data between cell towers once they have that need for increased bandwidth(2.5G and 3G services). Right now, I believe point-point microwave suits the industry just fine since data is so limited. The other application, of course, is access.

IMO, the TAM is still a hard one to call because of the reliability issues. I don't recall In-stat, Dell'Oro, etc, publishing any estimates. It must be very hard to predict. -MikeM(From Florida)
