WTSherman...\
>> 70% increase in software and breakeven results:<<

Breakeven BUT ....... It included a $4.7M gain in security sales according to the press release.

>>Included in the third quarter 2000 results is a net after-tax gain of $4.7 million or $0.09 per diluted share arising from the sale of marketable equity securities. <<

Thus with out the above mentioned sale, ASPT would have had a 0.09 loss for the Q.

Some one with an accounting background can help me further on this. Later in the press release it states the following:

>>Net loss in the third quarter of 2000 was $5.6 million or $0.11 per share which includes the after-tax gain of $4.7 million or $0.09 per share arising from the sale of marketable equity securities<<

What is the difference in the Pro forma which showed a break even Q and then the above statement later in the press release stating a "net loss of $5.6M for the Q."

I am not impressed with the financials however, I am impressed with the 70% increase in license revenue. Hmmm, I guess that is why the Press Release featured that in the headline because the details of the financials IMO were not to hot.

Good Luck to us all.
