This is very telling. It is thought that they may now have a flat customer base. So they are treating those that remain this way? Says something about the current mindset of the company, they may be cooked.

Whoops. Failure to disclose interest rates is a violation of the federal Truth in Lending Law, and a lot of similar state laws - interest rates must be disclosed before the contract is formed. Actual damages, punitive damages, attorney's fees and court costs for the prevailing plaintiff.

Who was saying that Gateway was now a finance company rather than a computer company? I'm thinking that 27% ROI minus expenses is pretty good no matter what business you are in. It looked like a good business model, besides that whole fraud thing.

i agree.. i just wish it would hurry up.... these marches down followed by sharp rallies reminds me of the way PG collapsed... a similar progression in the SPX would put it collapsing to sub 98 lows after a sharp but quick bounce at 1200 (9200 on the dow)

< Gateway's ``Moola MasterCard'' plan which carried an Annual Percentage Rate of 26.99% (dubbed ``competitive'' in the brochure). The interest rate, the complaint alleges, was disclosed only after it was too late--under Gateway's policy--to return the goods for a refund. >

So Fleck was right and "Clown" was wrong.... hmmmm another data point.
