It seems odd to me that everyone here is fixiated on China adoption of CDMA. There was never a doubt in my mind, why would China balkanize itself? They want to run dual systems to hedge their bets. The news today that is by far more important and which seems to be overlooked by the geniuses on CNBC is the dual mode sim that will enable Qcom to sell into exsisting GSM markets. This is HUGE because 1) it opens up a whole new group of customers whom will pay more for true global roaming. 2) The phones ASP's will be higher increasing royalties. It also seems like a huge cue allying themselves with a Chinese producer. If Qcom uses its enginering talent and Asian manufacturing, and cost advantages they will Crush NOKIA. They are doing an end arround Europe. Korea, JApan, China North and South America will all be heavilly geared towerds CDMA and GSM/CDMA combo. Where are those great Europeans whom we are told will destroy US Wireless co's?<VBG> Maybee they are building GRPS chips ROTHFLAO!
