Microsoft WILL Split: Please Comment RudeDog/others....

Spoke with a fellow today who I respect very much and given that he worked inside Microsoft for the past 6+ years his feedback was very clear on the following:

1) Microsoft WILL be broken up.

2) They've already purchased the land in Orem, UT - the old WP campus.

3) Gates will head up the OS company.

4) Balmer the applications company.

5) Reason for their lack of traction behind this announcement is that Microsoft wants to split up on "their terms" not the government's terms.

6) If Microsoft gets it's way, this break should have a powerfully positive effect on the overal adjusted valuation of Microsoft.

This gentleman sees very positive potential synergies between Novell and Microsoft. He doesn't see them as competitors anymore. He believes there will be a mad rush to open source. Has great respect for Novell's directory stuff going forward.

Even the remote posibility of the prospect of Microsoft setting up shop just up the road from Novell should have a very positive and powerful effect of opening up Novell's old/closed culture.

This could be a transformative event for both companies.

MSFT: $51 and 9 teenies and counting...

NOVL: $ 7 3/4 and waiting....

Peace.

GO!!
