The problem is not just motherboards but the right kind of motherboards. The low-end market really needs integrated Graphics chipset which does not exist for Duron. It is too expensive to add a graphics chip and memory for low-end systems. A good chunk of volume comes from this class of systems and Duron is severely handicapped.

Chuck,

That's right....I forgot about the int. graphics chipset; I was only thinking in terms of the Socket A MB.

Charles

Kumar is estimating that Intel shipped 34 million CPUs and the ASPs are around $177-78.

I was surprised at the current level of Intel's ASPs. I had thought you had estimated last quarter that they were around $190. Am I correct?
