Good point John. I believe that there are measures that can be taken to halt the severe slide in the stock price. Namely, they (speculation only) can announce a stock buy back, INTC can announce a personnel cutback, INTC can announce new technology overview to become more involved in Internet devices and servers, and finally there can be some surprises in the details of the conference call after the release of the numbers.

Would they pre-announce an shortfall and then surprise on the earnings announcement, I absolutely do not believe that this would occur.

If there is a surprise it will be to the upside. So you and I have taken our position, and might as well wait to see how this plays out.

Certainly IMO there is no reason to believe that INTC will not be a factor in the future of computing. They will not fall off the end of the earth.

If the news is good there will be an explosion in the price of the stock IMHO.
