That mean we're halfway there. Where the heck were you today, DMP?

Did you or anyone get this bulletin directly from Marketimer, or could it be yet another internet hoax?

This seems out of character for Brinker and contradicts what he's recently been saying, both about the market and about what Marketimer is all about...

This latest "countertrend" rally call to buy the QQQs by Brinker is very unusual & strange - especially since he made a similar trading call in the summer & then closed it out at an 84 stop loss to preserve capital. At that time, he said on his radio show that he would not be doing it again because this experiment did not work & his weekend show was not geared to keeping listeners adequately informed on short term trading calls. Now unless he has radically changed his philosophy in the last few weeks from extreme bearishness & capital preservation with a defensive asset allocation of 65% in cash, this 2nd short term trading call using the QQQs as an investment vehicle is indeed a bizarre about-face for an investment strategist geared to retail investors using mutual funds. As of this weekend, his stand-in Bill Flanagan was asked by a listener if he anticipated a countertrend rally & he seemed to hedge the answer but did not respond in the affirmative. I have a friend who received this same bulletin this afternoon. Clearly, it must have been mailed out prior to the weekend talk show. I am really scratching my head on this call by Brinker & wondering how his proprietary indicators changed so radically from a long term bear market advising his listeners to maintain high cash in a capital preservation mode to moving 35 to 50% of cash into the QQQs. Of course, if he is right, in hindsight this could look like a brilliant move. It just seems out of character at this time in light of his long term call on a bear market well into 2001 or beyond. It will be very interesting to track this call & to hear Bob Brinker's live explanation.
Thanks for sharing this information.
Good luck & good trading.
Phil

dennis michael patterson - If your "BUY Bob Brinker" post that purports to disclose the content of a Marketimer Special Bulletin is true, IMHO you have done a great disservice to Marketimer subscribers and you may be in violation of the copyright laws. If your post is a hoax, IMHO you are a sick individual who desperately needs psychological help. If in fact you are a law professor at Rutgars University (and not a dog), IMHO you should know better!
