Critics of Gore cannot attack him on his record or the issues he stands for because they are both so admirable. So they try to go after him personally. But since's he's a clean-cut hardworking family man they have to twist the few mistakes and exagerations he's made into something supposedly serious. I watched a GOP spin doctor use the word "Liar" a half dozen times in a one minute spiel. But if Gore is a liar so is Bush. It's called embellishing and exaggerating and politicians all do it because they HAVE to do it, especially in a tight race. At this point both are like actors reciting screenplays written for them by marketing experts. That's why I just look at the record.
And when it comes to record, both personal and legislative, Gore is a giant compared to Bush. I cannot think of one pice of legislation that Bush has ever thought up and helps people. He is popular, but DESPITE his record. His charisma and the huge amount of money behind him is what's carrying him now. Bush is a waling poster boy for why we need campaign finance reform. He squashed McCain with his money and now he's trying to do it to Gore.
