AS.. you just don't get it... we'll never truly pay off the debt because even if we balance the budget and have a surplus, that extra money will be placed in T-Bills and thrown in the regular govt revenue base to be spent by pork-barrel politicians on all sides. Better to have that money go back to those who pay it in the first place since they should know how to use it better than government (as explained by the fact that the government has the ability to receive surplus funds). Grow the economy, stabilize/reduce govt spending, reduce waste, fraud, and abuse, and let our outstanding liabilities be reduced as a percetage of our GDP. Regards, Ron
