You can say they have "equal protection under the law" but the words are meaningless if whole classes of people aren't actually protected.

So let's say that the majority of the US population becomes non-white.

Will Caucasians then qualify as a "protected class" under your hate crime legislation?

Or can I take it down to a level where I'm a white living in a predominantly non-white community and one day I'm mugged and robbed by a non-white.

Can I declare that it was a racially motivated crime that qualifies as a hate crime due to the fact that locally, I'm a distinct minority of the population in my neighborhood?

This is just one more silly @ssed liberal idea....

Enforce the laws that are ALREADY on the books. When this society does that, THEN I might look again to see if additional legislation is required.
